This master’s thesis is focused on qualitative creative method of mental mapping. The theoretical part deals with creativity and qualitative research too, these terms are linking with mental maps. In practical part is implemented analysis of specific research and on the basic of attained results are suggested possibilities solutions and applications of this method.
Detection of the border between North and South Europe by using mental maps

The bachelor thesis deals with the detection of the borders of North and South Europe by using mental maps. The whole elaboration was created with the participation of nine European countries, which represent Central, Western and Eastern Europe. Altogether, the research involves more than 300 respondents who visit European universities in selected countries. Various display variants, such as line or polygon, were later used to work with mental maps. The work also deals with the centre of Europe and the dominant elements of creating mental maps. The data were processed via ArcGis Pro. The work aims to analyze the results, compare the individual lines and create the borders of North and South Europe. Finally, it responds to the results that are delived from the practical part of the work.
Methodic of techniques for selected situations in greco-roman wrestling

Title: Methodic of techniques for selected situations in greco-roman wrestling Objectives: The aim of this bachelor work is a creation of graphic material, which has the form of mind maps, that showcase selected positions occuring in a grecoroman wrestling match. Created mind maps will contain techniques, that might be used during these situations and each of them will be described. This work is created for the purpose of helping advanced wrestlers and their trainers whit their tactical and technical preparation. Methods: The collection of knowledge in this work was carried out by a literature search, which deals with the topic of wrestling, mind maps and tactical and technical preparation. Another resources for the creation of these mind maps and introduction of used techniques, were individual experience of the author and consultation with trainers and members of the czech national greco-roman wrestling team. Cultural Aspects of Cartographic Creation: Use of Mental Maps in Cross-cultural Research

Cultural Aspects of Cartographic Creation: Use of Mental Maps in Cross-cultural Research Abstract: Diploma thesis deals with study of interdisciplinary issue of cultural aspects of cartographic creation. The first part of the work consists of theoretical introduction dealing with the map con- tent, map stylistics and map language, in which maps show the greatest cultural differences. The map figures here in a role of the image of reality and visual manifestation of culture. The analogy between a map and a classical language (linguistic anthropology) and the analogy between early maps and primitive cultures' maps are described. Beside the language, as determinants of the human spatial perception and other categories related to the map creation could be mentioned the environment, the experiences and the society, in which man lives. Several examples of so- called cultural map styles, especially from Australia and Oceania, are introduced as well. In the methodical part of the work in connection with cultural-anthropological research a method of cognitive maps, respectively mental maps of map users and map makers is discussed in detail. Assessment of mental maps in GIS

This work deals with the possibilities of assessments of mental maps using GIS tools. The main goal is to create a collection of methods to evaluate positioning and relative accuracy of mental maps. The method principles are based on methods of GIS. The emphasis is on maximum versatility and automation the assessment procedure. For all proposed methods there are further discussed the advantages and disadvantages. First part of this work deals with the theme of mental maps, followed by a brief introduction to GIS and their use in the field mental maps. The main part is devoted to the description and practical examples of evaluation methods. At the conclusion there is a discussion of the proposed methods and the appropriateness of use GIS at this issue in general. This work was created under the project No. 26609 called "Mental Maps: Object and Device for Assessment" supported by the Grant Agency of Charles University.

Methodic of selected judo techniques for younger school age children.

Title: Methodic of selected judo techniques for younger school age children. Objectives: The aim of the thesis is to build visual material, which has the form of mental maps, selected technic in judo for beginner's athletes during the younger school age. Mental maps will be formed in conjunction with each other in a successful design, failed design, or in individual combinations. Techniques will be selected on the basis of the Testing Regulations of the Czech Judo Association. Methods: The collection of knowledge was carried out by a literature search, which deals with the topic of Juda and the chosen age category. Another reason for choosing the suitability of these techniques is the direct link to the judo test rule, which is given by Czech judo association. Orientační prvky v krajině

The work deals with an orientation in a landscape and orientation elements in the territory of Klobouky u Brna and its surroundings. The points of orientation of Klobouky were identified on the basis of information obtained from the field survey, mental maps made by 16 persons interviewed, and based on attributes of the landscape character of Koboucko too, at which, according to the methodology proposed by the author, was evaluated the importance for the orientation. Each orientation element is briefly described and classified according to the methodology proposed by the author of the work at the work. A placement of individual points of orientation in Klobouky area is also noted in the attached map. On the basis of the orientation elements, it is introduced the draft management of model area, which should lead to the preservation and restoration of the landscape values associated with orientation in the landscape. Diploma thesis also contains theories regarding the orientation of men, women, local residents, visitors of the area and groups of different age in the country, formulated on the basis of the assessed mental maps.
Perception of space in Prague district Holešovice through mental maps of residents and other individuals

This work deals with the change of a space perception depending on the relationship between that space and respondents. The main goal is to determine how the orientation of respondents is changed in an unfamiliar area in comparison with the familiar area. Secondary goal examines how these responses are changed according to this space. The introduction is focused on goals, working hypotheses and basic concept definitions which are related to an issue of mental maps. GIS tools are used to evaluate mental maps. The main part is devoted to a case study of Holešovice district, processing and interpretation of gained results. The final section summarises results and confirms or disproves hypotheses. The results are aggregated maps representing four different groups of respondents followed by possibilities of a practical use of that work.
